Developer Creates New Google Chrome ExtensionTo Help Identify Trustworthiness Of XRP Addresses

Ripple is by far one of the most active cryptocurrency and blockchain related firms, constantly trying to not only increase its community but also proffering crypto related solutions for many businesses all over the world. This much work, presence, and effort put into the sector by the firm has made its community – including many software developers – enlarge continuously. From the developers’ end, a lot of related projects are being created and deployed quite regularly and they almost always have a use for XRP.

Wallet Trust Chrome Extension

A software engineer, entrepreneur and crypto enthusiast knew as SchlaubiDev (@SchlaubiD), recently announced on Twitter, his creation of a new extension for Google Chrome. According to the tweet, the new extension – called Wallet Trust – can be used to validate the “trustworthiness” of an XRP wallet before a transaction is made.

The tweet said:

The user also hinted at the possibility of monetizing chrome extensions saying:

“If you are maybe seeing #Coil payments on every page, keep calm it’s expected. The extension also implements a test for monetizing chrome extensions.”

This isn’t the first time a tool for checking the authenticity of an address has been created. In fact, other cryptocurrencies have different tools for this purpose. However, this is the first time that users can easily do this through a web browser’s extension.

SchlaubiDev has also created other XRP related extensions in the past. A while ago, the same user created an extension that let users send XRP through emails. An extension was first released that allowed users to send their XRP through Microsoft Outlook. A second one allowed users to do the same through Gmail.

XRP’s Micropayments

One advantage the XRP ledger has in the cryptosphere is that it settles transactions very fast. This feature has made micro-payments a very popular part of the XRP ecosystem. Micro-payments became very popular when Wietse Winde developed XRP TipBot and also made the same available via Twitter, Reddit, and a few other platforms. The XRPTipBot is a tool developed for members of the XRP community to easily tip one another via social media.

Wietse Wind was funded through an investment made by Ripple’s Xpring. Xpring is a Ripple initiative launched last year for the purpose of incubating and funding various entrepreneurs and developers to create solutions around XRP.


The reactions that have trailed this announcement have been largely positive. A @bigbuckor has said that:

“This would be yet another revolution in the way we send money…with this, who would need Western Union?”

Another user (@John_S_cothill) also commended the development, advising the creator to make further extensions. He tweeted:

“Congrats, this looks ace! Possible Gmail extension in future for the businesses that have moved away from Outlook (it’s a growing proportion), and personal users?”
